We live and interact with one another through images now more than ever before. We have created a world and a visual culture in which photography seems to play a key role.
We all capture images everyday: to introduce ourselves, to express ideas, to create memories...or even to show our wishes. We also like to edit pictures and to share them on social networks so that people out there can value them.
We travel and take photos in order to remember and show the beautiful places that we have been to as well as the places that have surprised us the most. With The Wonder Trip you can go to the most popular European destinations to take pictures and make your friends jealous.
Today, August the 19th, we celebrate the #WorldPhotoDay in order to commemorate the day in which the first photo was taken. Although there are different theories about when the first image was taken, many research studies agree that the French engineer Nicéphore Niépce was the first person to take a picture in 1826 from a window in Saint Loup de Varennes, Francia.
The first #WorldPhotoDay was agreed to be the 19th of August of 1839, thirteen years after Niépce took the first picture. The reason is that in this year the patent to take photos was set so that others could take pictures as well.
Since the first photo 190 years ago, the photography has not stopped evolving and improving in terms of shape, materials, and quality. There is nothing similar between the first cameras that used Magnesium to those of today, with cutting-age technology to focus with the highest precision.
Without photography, it would not have been possible that the Lummier brothers invented the film projector in 1895 because this one completely relies on photography. The continuous combination of many stills creates the visual effect of the cinematographic movement. Cinema is just many images moving at a high speed.
Nowadays, it is not possible to think about a world without images. From the advertising posters, to the cinema or digital world, everything is based on the photography. We live immersed into a visual culture in which images rule many segments of society.
Who would be able to travel without taking any picture? Photography has become an essential travel mate that help us create memories about our destinations as well as help us share our best moment on different social networks (From WhatsUp to Instagram). Taking pictures of monuments, landscapes, people, or simple taking any picture, is something related to travelling.
That is the reason why at The Wonder Trip we love that you show us how much fun you have during your trips through pictures.
We have seen how the way we use pictures has changed. Before it was mainly to conserve memories or to accompany news in the newspapers. Today, mobile technology has enabled us to take high quality instant pictures thanks to our Smartphones, and most importantly, it has opened up a digital world in which we can share our experiences with the world.
On Facebook, WhatsUp, Twitter and Instagram, we all share images with very different purposes. We share pictures to introduce ourselves, communicate with one another, show the places we go to, and the activities we do. We share pictures of delicious meals or beautiful landscapes.
TAKE PICS AND SHARE YOUR LIFE WITH THE WORLD.
WHY NOT? MAKE THEM A BIT JELOUS :)
